I first met Emily at the Cincinnati Auto Show - she had already been in and picked out the perfect MINI and she was just hopping around the show to check out the other cars and visit the MINI booth.
She came into the dealership a few days later to pick up her new car and I was so excited about her purchase (a first car is ALWAYS exciting - especially if it is a MINI!) She had a great spirit about her and I know will have LOTS of fun in the new MINI.

A year ahead of its launch in the US, MINI has confirmed the expansion of the MINI model lineup to four variants with the introduction of the new MINI Countryman.
Meet The MINI Countryman
MINI is adding a fourth model to the family, opening up a new dimension of motoring with that unmistakable MINI exhilaration. Longer and taller, the new MINI Countryman is a genuine crossover vehicle, and bridges the gap between the classic concept of the MINI and a modern crossover. As with all MINI vehicles, the MINI Countryman offers that unique go-kart handling that customers expect, while allowing the brand to appeal to new customers who require extra space and flexibility.

The MINI Countryman is the first vehicle in the brand lineup to offer four doors. It provides true freedom of space and versatility with a wide-opening tail gate, a slightly elevated seating position and optimized driving comfort. Numerous features fully integrate passengers with the vehicle, while optional ALL4 all-wheel drive provides versatile capability for motoring enthusiasts who like to explore all types of terrain. In a nutshell, the MINI Countryman offers all the iconic characteristics of the brand in terms of design, premium quality, handling, efficiency and customization in a new, modern style.

MINI has released some of the sizes for the newest member of the lineup, the Countryman. It looks like they are trying to keep curb weight around 3000 pounds, which is only a few hundred more than the other models. This will help keep the performance up with the increased size!
As far as size goes though:
- R56 Hatch: 145.6″
- R55 Clubman: 156″
- R60 Countryman: 161″
This car is truly still going to be MINI! That is an increase of a little over a foot compared to the normal hatch, and only a few inches on the Clubman. This should be a very fun car to drive!
More Tips for driving in the snow from Cincinnati MINI
by Kristin McMahon on February 15th, 2010 at 3:17pm in NewsHey everyone! The snow is really coming down out there, it’s looking more and more like a winter wonderland with each passing minute!!! With that in mind be safe driving today if you HAVE to drive. With these CRAZY conditions here are some more tips for driving in the snow from Cincinnati MINI:
- Drive slowly. Everything takes longer on snow-covered roads. Accelerating, stopping, turning - nothing happens as quickly as it does on dry pavement. Give yourself time to maneuver by driving slowly.
- Don’t stop if you can avoid it. There’s a big difference in the amount of inertia it takes to start moving from a full stop versus how much it takes to get moving while still rolling. If you can slow down enough to keep rolling until a traffic light changes, do it.
- Don’t power up hills. Applying extra gas on snow-covered roads just starts your wheels spinning. Try to get a little inertia going before you reach the hill and let that inertia carry you to the top. As you reach the crest of the hill, reduce your speed and proceed downhill as slowly as possible.
- Don’t stop going up a hill. There’s nothing worse than trying to get moving up a hill on an icy road. Get some inertia going on a flat roadway before you take on the hill.
- STAY HOME. If you really don’t have to go out, DON’T. Even if you can drive well in the snow, not everyone else can.
Don’t tempt fate: If you don’t have somewhere you HAVE to be, watch the snow from indoors!
