Beach Bound Beauty

by on July 12th, 2010 at 1:20pm in News

As the tally came in, the number one beach bound beauty was none other than the MINI Convertible (see story here)

Now that summer is sneaking to an end (I know I know – I shouldn’t have said that right?) Where can you go for a quick – beach getaway?

I know many travel to the Carolina’s and southern beaches but what about those that can’t getaway for more than a weekend? Here are some local “beaches” for a close to home day trip that will still make you feel like you have traveled to a far off beach!

East Fork Lake (state park): Batavia, OH
Just a hop skip and jump down Beechmont Ave and you’ll arrive at this getaway spot. There are trails for bikers and a boat ramp for those lucky enough to own a boat.

Caesar Creek (state park): Wilmington, OH
North on 71 you will find this state park. With lotsof fishing, camping, boating, biking and beach access.

Stonelick (state park): Pleasant Plain, OH
Located in Pleasand Plain this park has fishing, camping, beach access and bike trails.

So get out and enjoy Ohio parks this summer – and feel like you got your getaway!

Fiona Munro has her sights set on driving Perth into the Guinness Book of Records – for the most people fitting into a Mini Cooper!  How cool!!  Her big Mini squash is on Saturday, July 24, as the main event of an afternoon of challenges aimed at motivating and inspiring local young people.  The record stands at 21 people in an original Mini and 24 in a new style of Mini Cooper.  If this were local would you be a part of it?  How many people do you think would fit?
