CNN MONEY has named the MINI Cooper to its list of top 12 greenest cars for 2010!

If you look at the rest of the cars on the list, you can see that the MINI is definitely the most fun car to drive too!

I was inspired by an article I was reading on the web today, Does Your Car Have a Name?

Now with some brands, I wouldn’t think to ask, but with MINI I know almost for a fact, that every single MINI out on the streets today has a name. So what is it?

My car is “El Gato Negro” (the black cat)…

After seeing two black cats come across my white car in the first week of purchase I was scared that it was an omen, my car would have bad luck. I decided that the only way to feel better was to embrace the sitings by christening the car with its new name - El Gato Negro  =)

Ladies and Gentlemen it is finally here! We have been waiting for pictures and the specs on MINI’s newest member of the Cooper family. Well the wait is over! Pictures and information on the MINI Countryman are finally available - and it looks great!

The Countryman has a totally new roofline, radiator grille, larger headlights, rear light clusters and four doors. Along with All-Wheel-Drive and the same look and feel of MINI Cooper that we have come to love, how can this new MINI not be fantastic.

Let’s Motor!

Pictures have finally arrived - and I mean good pictures. See the new Countryman in many settings here!

I am thrilled with the arrival of the Countryman and can’t wait for it to get to the dealership (will let you know when we get the news). The MINI brand is strong and for those of us that need a little bit more hauling room, this addition will be more than welcomed. I understand the concern that a MINI is supposed to be MINI but the execution of the car, keeping the brand and styling in tact, has definitely been kept.

Thoughts?!

Circulating the web are photos of the special rainbow paints due in for some 2010 models this spring over in the UK. We haven’t heard word if they will be in the states at all but fingers crossed, I think they are a sweet edition to an already fun and funky MINI. Check out the photos below:

I should of received the M1N1 shot before I started working at Cincinnati Mini.  Now I have the Mini fever. I could only make it 5 months before I had to get a Mini for myself. It made me sick that everyone else was having so much fun, so I decided it was time for a cure. I can be found recovering in my 2010 Midnight Black Mini Cooper S or curing others at Cincinnati Mini.

Make sure that your tire pressures are at the recommended settings. This will give you extended tire life, better fuel economy as well as help the car move easier on snow. This is important as the temperatures drop because the change from heat to cool may make your tire pressure light pop on!

From our service Manager Scott Klein, here is the first of a handful of winter driving tips…

Before driving, scrape the ice and snow from your windows. A frozen wiper blade can be an expensive repair as it can strip the gears on the motor or break the wiper blade off and scratch your windshield.
