The MINI Cooper Clubman was re-introduced in 2008 as an “estate car”. Sounding neat and my curiousity beaming, I dug deeper to find out just what an “estate car” is.
An estate car (or just estate) is used in Britain to describe an automobile ressembling a sedan that has a tall rear – one that follows the height of the car all the way through. In the states, as well as Australia, Canada and New Zealand, this is called a station wagon.
The classic MINI Clubmans were however named a “Traveller” or “Countryman”.
